Welcome to San Antonio Missions, a National Park Service site and the only UNESCO World Heritage Site in Texas.

After thousands of years, South Texans faced drought, European diseases, and colonization. In the 1700s, these Indigenous South Texans foreswore their traditional subsistence lifestyle and assimilated for survival to the Spanish ways, accepting a new religion, diet, economy and more.
